ONENESS: What is it and why then are we so different?
Hello again Dear Friends,
It’s sure easy to say we believe in Universal Oneness, but what does Oneness really mean to each of us? How would you define it?
To me it’s an understanding that a common singular energetic or spiritual force exists within all people and all things. You can choose to call this God, Source, Light, All that is, Energy, etc etc, but does it really matter what you call it. I like to use the words God and Light.
Does it make sense and seem possible that a common energetic element exists within everything? It certainly does to me and that is the basis from which cooperation blossoms, because we ‘feel’ the connection although we can’t always explain it. Cooperation with other people, with nature, and with animals is the logical extension of Oneness. Whenever we are behaving in contradiction to this universal cooperation there is usually a negative energetic warning that goes off in our body. This is one of the reasons it is so important to learn and practice listening inward. When you not only believe in Oneness, but also strive to practice it, cooperation abounds, and with cooperation we positively evolve as individuals and as community.
An obvious next question is “If at the deepest level we are all One, then why are we so different, and why does all the contrast exist?
Being of Oneness thankfully does not mean that we are all the same. That would be a bit boring and monotonous don’t you think? Planet Earth is a free will zone where we incarnate to practice the evolution and growth of our eternal Soul. There is a big difference in being connected in Oneness and still being a unique human being!
As unique Soul beings we each have our own path to live and we all incarnate with different contracts and lessons to fulfill. In other words, yes, we are all of Source or God energy, but we also have different paths and journeys to follow in our evolutionary process.
I recognize as we grow, learn, and evolve that naturally we tend to fall in love with our own opinions and beliefs, it’s only natural. The key then to make cooperation work is not to make everyone who differs with us an idiot or a jerk! Just think back on your life for a moment; do you have the same opinions about relationships, health, politics, or money today as you did twenty or thirty years ago, or have you changed and spiritually evolved?
It’s in our face all the time from our political leaders to daily Facebook and twitter comments. “If you disagree with my educated and enlightened opinion than you are a jerk!” Really, how does this breed any long term cooperation? The fact is, we are all unique AND we are all connected, and learning to make this work in a cooperative manner is the job at hand.
Please another reminder to limit and filter all the media news that bombards us. It’s almost entirely negative and skews our thinking about what really is going on around us. Sure there will be numerous disasters of sort around the globe today, but for the most part, the majority of us are having a pretty good day. The daily negative news, presented primarily for the purpose of selling the news, represents a tiny fraction of all the good and cooperation that goes on daily.
As always, with love and appreciation.
