PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND US
Hello again Dear Friends,
It’s been a very exciting month for me with the publishing of my third book, WE’RE TIPPING OVER, The Urgency to Rethink Government, Business, Heart, and Soul. I’ve been a guest on radio shows from Pennsylvania to California, had a spot on local TV, and meeting some new wonderful people.
If in Denver, please don’t forget my free book signing and lecture next Friday night May 11th, Full Moon Books 7 pm
Much of what I write and speak about does include the precarious place our country is at relative to financial deficits, an inept political system and the disappearing jobs and middle class. However, the real point I try to make is that regardless of what is going on with big business, government and politics it’s still up to us as individuals to learn first to survive, and then smile, thrive and prosper even in this environment.
To do this requires a mindset of complete ‘personal responsibility’ and a ‘no victim’ mentality! I know all this sounds good, but specifically how does one get started on the process.
Personal finances: Put simply, begin immediately to work on becoming debt free. This is a process that for most will take some time. If you are a homeowner, get a fifteen year mortgage and have a plan for eventually getting your house paid off. Next be sure not to lease your car. Buy it, pay off the loan over time and then own your car without debt. Lastly, budget your income so that credit card use is only for emergencies. Financial freedom is available for everyone, but it requires time, discipline and patience. Imagine a point in time when you live in a paid off house, own a paid off car, and have no credit card debt; how does it feel? This creates a wonderful place of freedom no matter what is going on with our government, politics, or big business.
Happiness: Stop equating happiness to the pursuit of more ‘things’. Learn and practice having fun at home either alone or with friends, family, and pets rather than needing new ‘things’ (ie clothing, cars, houses, vacations) to smile and have fun and feel good. Remember and use my 5 daily steps to happiness *smile, *appreciate, *forgive, *allow, *reduce the daily news intake.
Embrace and practice Universal Oneness and integrity: We are all connected and there is a common spirit (Light, God, Source) that flows through all things: All people, all animals, our entire planet Earth and beyond. Any act in discord or contrary to Oneness and integrity is a waste of time and will not produce long term positive results.
Diligently practice the creation and manifestation process: Embrace the fact that we are both physical and energetic spiritual beings, and at any given moment our current life experience is the product of our thoughts, emotions, words and actions. To change and transform our daily experience we need to alter the accumulation of energy that may have us stuck. A daily practice of meditation is the best way to get this process moving towards the direction you desire.
As I write in my new book, our society is tipping over in many ways, but most are totally unaware preferring to live in Pollyanna zombie land. We are at a time in history where it is essential to turn down the negative fearful noise of media and even friends. We all have the innate ability to listen inward, make our own decisions, and create the life we desire. I would love to assist you on this journey.
With love and appreciation.
