WHAT YOU FEAR CAN HURT YOU! MY NEW HERO!
Hello again Dear Friends,
In recent newsletters I have spoken of the power of our thoughts and spoken words as they relate to what we create in our lives. How about the power of our emotions and particularly our fears? I’d like to share a couple of recent stories.
A few years back a good friend, Dr. H, passed away from Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was 80 years old and a successful and long practicing doctor. Shortly after his passing my wife and I had dinner with his wife of many years. During the dinner conversation Mrs. H recounted many wonderful stories about her husband, their lives together, and his medical practice. One of the points she brought up I found most interesting. She shared that in all the years that Mr. H practiced medicine he had seen almost every human condition and the only one he feared, and in a big way, was ………Lou Gehrig’s disease. He regularly spoke of this ailment being his biggest fear!
Just recently a very good friend of mine, in his mid 60’s, Mr. K, had a stroke. This is an individual who loves the outdoors and much of his life was spent hunting, fishing, skiing, and golfing. When I went to visit him in the hospital his speech was relatively clear but some paralysis existed. As we chatted I was amazed at how much he knew about strokes, as he clearly had the subject well studied. I was so taken with his knowledge on the subject that I asked him how he knew so much about strokes. He confided that over the past few years he had developed an extreme fear of a stroke and had studied them in depth. This ailment had become his biggest fear!
Are the stories above just unrelated coincidences or do our emotions affect what we manifest in life? You be the judge for yourself.
What if you are told at an early age that because of the health ailments of your parents, grandparents, or siblings that you are a prime candidate for a certain disease? Might this affect your emotions, fears, and manifestations?
My wife Julie is adopted and has no knowledge of her birth parents. She greatly enjoys the fact that a doctor or well meaning friends and family cannot scare her with the fear of any disease due to the ailments of her parents. Again you be the judge, do we sometimes get the diseases of our blood relatives from ingrained thoughts, emotions and fears or from biological similarities?
There is much to ponder here, but if you believe like me that we create our life experience through the energetic vibrational powers of our thoughts, emotions, words, and beliefs, than it is critically important to gain control of these elements. This is where we all must practice diligently and this is what I speak and write about most.
My biggest heroes are typically just ordinary people who figure out how to succeed in life with a smile on their face. Well, I just found a new hero. On Sunday May 12 last month, in section B page 1 of the Denver Post, was the story of Elsa Bailey. Elsa the day before was celebrating her 100th birthday by skiing at A-Basin ski area outside Denver. Man, would I like to celebrate my 100th birthday that way! J Below are a couple of quotes of hers’ written in the newspaper that day.
“Life has been very different over the years, but life is good. Life is interesting. All you need to do is enjoy it she said smiling”
“It’s not what happens that makes you happy, it’s what you decide to do. You can be sick and if you want to be happy all you have to do is turn on the happy machine. I try and turn on the happy machine as often as I can”
A beautiful woman with beautiful words! Thank you Elsa!
Happiness and life creation, this is what I study and attempt to teach and share with others. It is a process, but it can be learned!
With love and appreciation,
