TRY SOME SILENCE IN THE NEW YEAR
Hello again Dear Friends,
Welcome to 2012, the last year of the Mayan calendar and the end of a 26,000 year cycle. Much more on this subject as the year progresses, but for now how about a way to get the new year off to a great start?
A new year often signals a time for change, but how do we begin any process of transformation? It almost always begins with listening inward to some inner voice which is saying I’ve had enough of the status quo. We see it regularly with people in a crisis mode or those fighting addictions. They hit rock bottom, throw up their arms, and say help, I’m ready to listen, I’m ready to change and transform. It is usually from this point that the listening and learning begin.
I am truly hopeful that most reading this newsletter are surely not at rock bottom, but I do know that most of us have resolutions, goals, and changes we want to start working on. The best way to do this is to quiet our mind and heart and then just ask and listen. The place to do this is in silence.
How many of you ever have a moment in silence. Do you wake up each day to the TV, then on to the computer, then the radio in the car, then conversation with others, and then back to the TV and computer. How much, if any, silence do you have in your life each day? Somehow I think many have grown to fear silence and avoid it at all cost, and this is a big mistake if growth, change, and transformation are what you desire.
The process of change starts with identifying what you want and then creating the road map to get it. Sure, outside advisors are helpful in any endeavor, but our individual heart, mind, and soul always hold the primary answers that are best for us individually. We access this information through silence and meditation.
As 2012 begins let’s try something new. Turn off or turn down some of the noise (friends, TV, computers, radio) and take some time for silence each and every day and learn to get comfortable with it. In silence ask for what best serves you (not anyone else) and what is your best road map. As you ask in silence, your soul will always respond with beauty and love, just TRUST.
2012 will usher in some more perceived discomfort or hardship for not only our government and businesses, but for many individuals as well. Traditional methods of coping may no longer be effective so listening inward to a new direction will be more important than ever. A wonderful new age is beginning to unfold and listening inward to your heart and soul will lead you to your path.
My new book “We’re Tipping Over, Rethinking Government Business Heart and Soul” will be covering our societal challenges and how we can stay afloat and prosper. Although originally scheduled for release in December there has been a slight delay and I’m now looking at publishing in February and I’ll keep you posted.
For a sneak preview of the topics and issues to be covered please join me in Denver the morning of January 26th, as I’ll be speaking to the Business Honoring Spirit group at Mile Hi Church. I look forward to seeing many of you there. I would love the opportunity to speak to other professional groups and associations around the country as well. Please contact me andy@andyfeld.net or www.andyfeld.net for topics, pricing, and availability.
I wish you all a wonderful, joyful, and prosperous 2012. Please take a moment to turn off the noise, listen inward and be part of a great personal transformation.
With love and appreciation.
Andy
