“PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW POSITIVE THINKING WILL HELP MAKE MY MORTGAGE PAYMENT” LOOKING AT OUR CURRENT FINACIAL SITUATION Hello again Dear Friends, Last month, among the numerous emails I regularly receive from readers, was one which suggests today’s topic. The individual wrote that he was contacting me only per his partner’s request. He frankly could not understand how changing his attitude would help him get the job he desired and therefore be more able to make his mortgage payment. I will get to the specifics of the question shortly, but first let’s take a look at our country’s current financial situation. We have too much debt, not enough jobs, an oversupply of just about everything, an aging dependent population, fierce worldwide competition, and banks which will not lend money. This is not at all the formula for a quick recovery. It has taken us 20-30 years to get into this predicament and it may take just as long to get out of it, IF and WHEN we begin making the hard decisions that are required. These decisions involve reducing ALL government benefits including, but of course, not limited to social security, welfare, pensions, tax write-offs etc. If you have the opportunity to chat with the young (28-38 years old) workforce of today, see how excited and motivated they are at the prospect of paying 50-60% of their income in taxes due to the mess we have left them. Next involves creating an educated workforce that can compete globally. A good friend recently informed me that for every new engineer graduate in the United States, India and China graduates 15!! How does this look for our future? My solutions above are really quite obvious, so where is the leadership? Is ANYONE making these suggestions? Why, because it is more important for our politicians to be elected than to do the RIGHT thing. The idea of professional politicians is one of the few areas our brilliant and divinely inspired founding fathers did not anticipate. Regardless what the government may or may not do, it is still our individual responsibility to do for ourselves, not be victims, and make some personal changes. It will take some time but if we all begin to desire less ‘things’ and work on reducing house, car, and credit card debt we can all eventually get to a point where with just modest income we are financially comfortable. Next, as I write about regularly, we must learn again to ‘reach inside’ and find our happiness, prosperity, and emotional abundance. I am currently working on a very exciting feature length movie project with Avenstar Enterprises which addresses this very subject. While traveling last week I was re-introduced to a short wonderful book first published in 1926, that I had a chance to read again. It’s called “The Richest Man in Babylon”. A simple wonderful read which will quickly point out where we have gotten off track financially and what we can do about it. There is no sense whining about our current plight. WE DID IT TO OURSELVES and it is only our responsibility to correct, although it most certainly will take some time. Now, let’s get back to the initial question of how positive thinking will help make one’s mortgage payment. If you read this newsletter regularly or have read my new book then hopefully this is not a difficult question to answer. At any moment we, individually, are the sum of our thoughts, emotions, words, and actions. Every thought we have, every emotion, every spoken word, and every action puts forth vibrating energy to the universe which moves in a circular fashion, eventually finding its way back to us. Until we buy into this Universal Law and consciously direct our thoughts, emotions, words, and actions, wrapped in love and integrity, it is impossible to create the life we desire and to manifest our dreams. I would like to highly recommend an inspiring blog which I recently came across. It is called EVOLUTION and hosted by Dena Botbyl http://denabotbyl.blogspot.com I have also become a big fan of “Realize your Essence” a website hosted by JD Messinger, www.jdmessinger.com I continue to be speaking regularly to business groups and organizations across the country about our financial wake-up call and specifically what we can do to prosper going forward. Your referrals are always appreciated. http://andyfeld.net andy@andyfeld.net My very best to all, With Love, Andy
